Feastivals or Holidays?

In our journey to follow YAHUAH we must be very conscious of His desires for how we are to serve Him. What stands in the way many times are the “TRADITIONS” that have been handed down to us from our forefathers over the centuries. The first two (2) Commandments in the 10 Commandments contain extremely important instructions for us to not have ANY other “things” that could take our focus away from Him and who He is to us.

Look what the great prophet Yirmiyahu (sn-Jer) said in Chapter 16:19-21: O YAHUAH, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited only falsehood (lies), futility, and there is no value in them.” 20 Would a man make mighty ones (sn- Gods) for himself, which are not mighty ones? 21  “Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My hand and My might. And they shall know that My Name is YAHUAH!”

Notice three (3) things about these verses.

1. Our fathers (ancestors) have inherited only lies, and there’s no value in them.

2. People try to make “mighty ones” (aka gods) for themselves which are not “mighty ones” (aka gods).

3. The intention of this deception is to cause people not to know who YAHUAH is and what His Name is.

Yirmiyahu goes on to say in in Chapter 23:24-27: “If anyone is hidden in secret places, would I not see him?” declares YAHUAH. “Do I not fill the heavens and earth?” declares YAHUAH. 25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsehood in My Name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 “Till when shall it be in the heart of the prophets? – the prophets of falsehood and prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27 who try to make My people forget My Name by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My Name for Ba‛al (Lord).

Notice three (3) more things from these verses:

1. YAHUAH sees everything. Nothing is hidden from Him.

2. Prophets (Most Preachers, Pastors, Evangelists, Missionaries, etc) prophesy/speak falsehood.

3. The intention again of this deception is to cause people to not know who YAHUAH is and what His Name is.

When it comes to “holidays” such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, New Years Eve/Day, etc… ask yourself “Where did these holidays come from? Does YAHUAH sanction them or condemn them?”

All of these holidays are rooted in deep “paganism” and they clearly violate the Commandments of YAHUAH.

Why is it that YAHUAH is so intentional about us staying away from these type of “holidays?” Let’s take a look at what YAHUAH inspired Mashah (sn- Moses) to speak in Dabariym (sn- Deut) 4:15-20:

15 “Therefore, diligently guard yourselves, for you saw no form when YAHUAH spoke to you at Harab (sn- Horeb) out of the midst of the fire, 16 lest you should do corruptly and shall make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure – the likeness of male or female, 17 the likeness of any beast that is on the earth or the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the heavens, 18 the likeness of any creature that creeps on the ground or the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth; 19 and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which YAHUAH your Aluah has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens. 20 “But YAHUAH has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Matsar, to be His people, an inheritance, as it is today.”

As we can see from these verses, YAHUAH is over-the-top sensitive about “images/idols” of any type. He knows that humans have an affinity for wanting to have something “tangible” to worship, rather that worshiping what is “unseen” like YAHUAH wants us to do. He told Mashah (sn- Moses) that he saw “no form” when Mashah was on the mountain with Him. All of these objects that humans make for “worship” such as crosses, obelisks, fish, sundials, churches, etc are types of “images” that YAHUAH warns us not to deal with or tolerate. The earthly “holidays” are primarily designed around “sun worship” and should not be observed if we are to “guard” YAHUAH’s Commandments.

YAHUSHA said in Yahuhanan (sn- John) 17:3:

17:3 “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Aluah, and YAHUSHA Mashiyha (sn-Messiah) whom You have sent.”

Our Savior gives us the clear definition of what “everlasting life” is… it’s for us to “know” YAHUAH. Now, how do we KNOW Him? It says in 1 Yahuhanan (sn- John) 2:3-6:

2:3-6 And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Aluah has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.

Notice three (3) things from these verses:

1. We KNOW Him if we guard his Commandments.

2. If we don’t GUARD His Commandments, we are a liar.

3. YAHUSHA guarded the Father’s Commandments and we are to walk as He walked (model Him).

8 “Forsaking the commandments of Aluah, you hold fast the tradition of men.” 9 And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the commandments of Aluah, in order to guard your tradition.” 10 “For Mashah said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’”

In Qahalat (sn- Ecc) 1:9 it says:

1:9 What has been is what shall be, what has been done is what shall be done, and there is no new matter under the sun.

The man-made pagan holidays we have today are no more different than the man-made pagan rituals, holidays, and festivals they had since the beginning of time. The question at hand is for us to choose whom we will serve.

In Yahusha (sn- Joshua) 24:15 is says:

24:15 “And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve YAHUAH, choose for yourselves this day whom you are going to serve, whether the mighty ones (sn- gods) which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the mighty ones (sn- gods) of the Amariym (sn- Amorites), in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we shall serve YAHUAH.”

This really is what it all comes down to. Are you completely tied to the ways of your “fathers/ancestors” and the traditions they serve, or are you committed to serving YAHUAH? The Family here at “Promote The Truth” chooses to tear down idols such as pagan holidays and pagan customs. The “Promote The Truth” Family chooses to serve YAHUAH! The Shabat (sn- Sabbath)

Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:3  ‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to YAHUAH in all your dwellings.

Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:11  ‘And he shall wave the sheaf before YAHUAH, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Shabat (Sabbath) the priest waves it.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:12  ‘And on that day when you wave the sheaf, you shall prepare a male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as an ascending offering to YAHUAH,

Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:18  ‘And besides the bread, you shall bring seven lambs a year old, perfect ones, and one young bull and two rams. They are an ascending offering to YAHUAH, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet fragrance to YAHUAH.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:19  ‘And you shall offer one male goat as a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old, as a slaughter of peace offerings.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:20  ‘And the priest shall wave them, besides the bread of the first-fruits, as a wave offering before YAHUAH, besides the two lambs. They are set-apart to YAHUAH for the priest.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:21  ‘And on this same day you shall proclaim a set-apart gathering for yourselves, you do no servile work on it – a law forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. 
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:22  ‘And when you reap the harvest of your land do not completely reap the corners of your field when you reap, and do not gather any gleaning from your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the stranger. I am YAHUAH your Aluah.’”

The Feast of Sakut (Booths/Tabernacles)

Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:36  ‘For seven days you bring an offering made by fire to YAHUAH. On the eighth day there shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to YAHUAH. It is a closing festival, you do no servile work.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:37  ‘These are the appointed times of YAHUAH which you proclaim as set-apart gatherings, to bring an offering made by fire to YAHUAH, an ascending offering and a grain offering, a slaughtering and drink offerings, as commanded for every day –
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:38  besides the Shabats (Sabbaths) of YAHUAH, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your voluntary offerings which you give to YAHUAH.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:39  ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh new moon, when you gather in the fruit of the land, celebrate the festival of YAHUAH for seven days. On the first day is a rest, and on the eighth day a rest.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:40  ‘And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of good trees, branches of palm trees, twigs of leafy trees, and willows of the stream, and shall rejoice before YAHUAH your Aluah for seven days.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:41  ‘And you shall celebrate it as a festival to YAHUAH for seven days in the year – a law forever in your generations. Celebrate it in the seventh new moon.
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:42  ‘Dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native born in Yishral dwell in booths,
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:43  so that your generations know that I made the children of Yishral dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim. I am YAHUAH your Aluah.’ ”
Uiyqra (sn- Lev) 23:44  Thus did Mashah speak of the appointed times of YAHUAH to the children of Yishral.

And as Scripture says:

Now it's our time to choose whom we serve!

THE PROBLEM WITH EASTER & CHRISTMAS

 Now, in the spirit of love, lets' spend a little time "tearing down some idols" that many unknowingly follow and are led astray by--“EASTER (es’ter), Ostara, or Eastre, called the goddess of Spring" and "Christ's Mass- CHRISTMAS, the pagan Roman solar holiday Dies Natalis Solis Invicti." Please understand that we are not here to offend but to spread the Truth. We know these are sensitive subjects that billions of people have been raised to believe in the wrong way. Our mission is to get to the the TRUTH. The Truth (Word), on it's own (Abariym sn-Hebrews 4:12, 13), brings darkness to light.

EASTER ( A Wicked Abomination ) By Lew White

This word has been adopted from Pagans as an attempt to “inculturate” by syncretism a behavior that is absolutely an abomination. If you recognize “Halloween” for what it is, then this will be no different after you learn the truth. Easter was already one of the two biggest celebrations observed by Pagans, long before Christianity came along. It is my belief that when this is exposed, it will fulfill the prophecies of Revelation 18. Go read it now. Babylon is still with us, but it is going to fall. Easter was celebrated by the Assyrians, the Phoenicians, and the Philistines (Goliath no doubt had an Easter basket). You should look up “Easter” in a Webster’s Dictionary, and do further research in other sources! This festival involved the “Rites of Spring” near the Equinox of Venus, when Pagans believed the Earth Mother was impregnated by the sun. They engaged in ritual sex acts, and used symbols of fertility like eggs, rabbits, and “hot cross buns”. The Babylonian symbol for the “female” was, and is, a circle with a crux beneath. The round cakes were baked for the “Queen of Heaven” (Regina Coeli), and “Great Mother” (Magna Mater), with the “cross” symbol indicating the female. The cross also indicated the Equinox, when the Earth’s orbit “crossed” the celestial equator. Hold on now, because everything will be just fine. This must sound so wild you may think I’m a heretic; but by the end of this you will be very glad to have acquired the truth. This will only shatter myths, not the “rock” of truth.

To ensure a prosperous growing season, Pagans rolled eggs decorated with bright colours of Spring on their fields, hoping to imbue fertility. These eggs were then hidden from “evil spirits” in rabbits’ nests, another symbol of fertility. The US Federal government does this very thing on the White House lawn every year on Easter Sun-Day. “Easter” is the name of the Babylonian “Mother of Harlots”, Rev. 17, and her image stands as the sun-goddess “Lady Liberty” in New York Harbor. This Colossus statue even has the “tower” headpiece, as seen worn by Artemis. The Hebrew TaNaKh (O.T.) calls her A S H E R A H. The 7 horns or sunrays should be a strong indication of her true identity. Her emblem is the flower of the lily, seen illustrated with her on this page. An American society, the Easter Seals Society, uses the fleur-de-lis (French, flower of the lily) as their logo, and they have no religious affiliations whatsoever. (At the Statue of "Liberty", there is a plaque dedicating the image to the Earth Mother, Ishtar). Most “churches” decorate with the lilies on “Easter morning”.

Instead of inheriting the truth, they inherited Babylon! If we only study history as people, places, and dates without comprehending “why” things occurred as they did, then everything is unorganized. It’s a junk pile. When you assemble it correctly, it all fits together perfectly; clarifying the path we walk on. “Satan” disguises “himself” — “he” is quite often “female”. We know “he” was behind Nimrod, as Moloch, Baal, Mithras, and so on; but “he” is also Ishtar. Sun-Day is “his” diversion; it’s a lie. I refer to “Easter Sun-Day” as “Beaster Sun-Day”. We don’t have to wait for a “beast”, it’s here right now. The patterns and appointments found in the Writings are the ones that are snubbed, excused, and ignored you will notice. But you say, “The word ‘Easter’ is in my King James Version”. Translations are not “inspired”, and errors exist by the tens of thousands in many translations! The word in the Greek that underlies the word “Easter” in the KJV is pascha, and it means Passover, from the Hebrew word “Pesach”.

All scholars admit that this is an error in translation, and it only appears ONCE, at Acts 12:4. Luke, who wrote almost 40% of the Mashian writings (NT), didn’t put it there as “Easter”. The KJV is the only one with this error, since translators corrected it in all others! There was a previous English translation made by the Catholic priest John Wycliffe during the 14th century. Pagan religions through time paralleled each other, carrying the Sun, Earth Mother, and child model from Babylon to Media Persia, Phoenicia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Celts. The Medes cooked the mythology into “Zoroastrianism”, producing the magician priests called “Magi”. They worshipped Ahura, Haoma, and Ohrmazd as their trinity. (We’ll survey them all under “Trinities” later). The Greeks’ “Zeus” was their sun deity, whose mother was “Lydia”, shown here riding a swan. Notice her headpiece; very much like “Lady Liberty”. Take another look at “Athena” and “Ishtar” on the previous page; those heads are indications that we are seeing the same person.

In contrast, the Creator says: “Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their Asherah (Easter) poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and WIPE OUT THEIR NAMES from those places. YOU MUST NOT WORSHIP YAHUAH YOUR ELOHIM IN THEIR WAY.” Dt. 12.

OK, that’s pretty clear. But what happened?

The hypothesis of this book states on the outset that as the Pagans were absorbed into Christianity, it was the policy to accept everything they were accustomed to celebrating also. Let’s hear it directly from the Catholic organization itself; the Catholic Cardinal John Henry Newman’s book, The Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine, published in 1878, states in chapter 8: “The rulers of the Church from early times were prepared, should the occasion arise, to adopt, to imitate, or to sanctify the existing rites and customs of the population, as well as the philosophy of the educated class. The use of temples and those dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasion with branches of trees (wreaths), incense, lamps, candles, votive offerings on recovering from illnesses, holy water, holy days and seasons (the entire Church calendar), use of calendars, processions, blessings on the fields, sacerdotal vestments, the ring in marriage, chants, the Kyrie Eleison — are all of Pagan origin, and sanctified by adoption into the Church.” There you have it. But, you may ask, “If Easter was a Pagan festival celebrating the impregnation of ‘Mother Earth’, how did it get mixed up with Christianity?” Christianity’s “Pagan Connection” started with one man more than any other.

In 325 CE, the Roman Emperor Constantine I convened what is now called the Nicene Council, gathering 220 elders (bishops) together, in order to unify basic doctrines (teachings), and establish common practices. This “universalizing” produced the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). The Latin word “Catholic” means universal. There was no “Catholic” on planet Earth prior to this Council. The only Council mentioned in the Writings conducted by the first Nazarenes is mentioned at Acts 15, the purpose of which was to determine how to accommodate Gentile converts who were turning to the true Creator. The only topic: circumcision ~ and since immersion in the Name and receiving the Spirit into your heart is our “circumcision”, it was decided that physical circumcision was not necessary (this is a very important beginning text to be understood by all adult male Gentiles!). Constantine’s Council sought to institute new tolerances for Pagan patterns, and outlaw the patterns that the Savior lived by and taught ~ he had already proclaimed “Sun-Day” as a day of rest dedicated to the sun (321 CE), and now it came time to “syncretize” more Paganism. By not “repenting” and turning away from elementary foolishness, it was simpler to just “absorb” the behavior. Political and religious CONTROL is a slippery thing; so by keeping the Pagan rituals in place, control was maintained with a minimum of effort! “Truth” was twisted by the “spin doctors” so the opposite of truth became our custom.

This was a prophecy revealed to Daniel. In the prophecy, four “beasts” or kingdoms would arise, which are clearly (1) Babylon, (2) MediaPersia, (3) Greece, and (4) Rome. At Dani’al 7:25, the 4th beast is clearly described: “The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on Earth (Rome). It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole Earth, trampling it down and crushing it. The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom (Caesars/Khasars/Kaisers/Czars ~ Julius Caesar up to Constantine). After them, another king will arise, different from the earlier ones (Constantine “fused” the sun worshippers with the Nazarene writings, and was not of the family name “Caesar”); he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High, and oppress His saints (qodeshim, those set-apart, especially the Hebrew people), and try to change the set times and the law”. Scripture is a pattern for our living in peace, guiding us with its “LAW”.

The changing of the “set times” (or seasonal appointments decreed at Deut. 16 and Lev. 23) were wiped-out and replaced with Pagan observances, imposed by Constantine.

THERE IS NO WHERE IN SCRIPTURE THAT TELLS US TO CELEBRATE EASTER . . . . . .

1. YAHUAH condemns using pagan religious practices in His worship (Shamut sn-Deut 12:29-31)

2. YAHUAH’s Son while on earth was named YAHUSHA not “Jesus.” Now His name since His resurrection is restored back to YAHUAH the Son/Savior/ha Mashiach (Yahuhanan 17:11). His true name is undisputable. Deceived or false “believers” call on a false Savior and celebrate the birth of a false diety (sn- god), thus ignoring the warnings not to follow a False Maschiach (Messiyah) and False Teachings (Matithyahu (sn- Matthew) 7:15; 24:24; II Qarantiym sn-Cor 11:13,14, II Kiypa (sn-Peter) 2:1-3; Hazun (sn-Rev) 19:20).

3. YAHUAH condemns adding to or taking away from His Commandments (Dabariym (sn-Deut) 12:32)

4. YAHUAH condemns the heathen use of decorated trees at a solstice (Yirmiyahu sn-Jeremiah 10:1-4)

5. YAHUAH commands us to separate from and not to touch pagan religion (II Qarantiym sn- Cor 6:14-18)

6. YAHUAH commands us to come out of [Roman Catholicism] and her sins. Most of the current “Churches” follow after the Roman “Catholic Church” without realizing it (Hazun sn-Rev 18:4)

7. YAHUAH condemns turning to the left or right from His Commandments (Dabariym sn-Deut 5:32-33)

8. YAHUsha told the apostles to teach us to observe only His Commandments (Matithyahu sn-Matthew 28:20)

9. YAHUAH rejected Dauud’s (sn-David) worship for a small detail and killed Uzzah (II Shamual sn-Samuel 6:1-10)

10. YAHUAH rejected and killed Nadab and Abihu for offering different fire (Uiyqra- sn-Lev 10:1-7)

11. YAHUAH rejected Moshah (sn-Moses) from seeing Canaan for a slight modification (Bamadbar sn-Numbers 20:12)

12. YAHUAH rejected Qahyin's (sn- Cain) worship simply for bringing an alternative sacrifice (Barashiyt sn-Gen 4:7)

13. YAHUAH rejected Shaul (Saul) forever for noble intentions in a modification (I Shamual sn-Samuel 15:22-23)

14. YAHUAH rejected Uzziyahu (sn- Uzziah) and gave him facial leprosy for a new idea (II Dabriy ha Ahiymiym sn-Chronicles 26:16-21)

15. YAHUAH rejected and killed Ananias and his wife for lying about their gift (Ma’ashiym sn-Acts 5:1-11)

16. YAHUAH requires reverence and righteous fear in worship to avoid His fire (Abariym sn-Hebrews 12:28-29)

17. ·YAHUAH seeks true worshippers to worship Him in truth, not superstition (Yahuhanan sn-John 4:23-24)

18. YAHUAH commands us to earnestly contend for the true faith, not traditions of men (Yahudah sn-Jude 1:3, 4)

19. YAHUAH requires us to esteem all His precepts but to hate all other ideas (Tahliym sn-Psalms 119:128)

20. YAHUAH commands us to prove all things by Scripture and reject the bad (I Tashlaniyqiym sn-Thes 5:21)

21. YAHUAH expects us to be noble and search Scripture to know true worship (Ma’ashiym sn-Acts 17:11)

22. YAHUAH gave Scripture to perfect us, which does not mention Christmas (II Tiymutiy sn-Tim 3:16-17)

23. YAHUAH curses any different “good news” (sn- gospel) that doesn’t teach the truth, and Christmas is not preached in the Scriptures because it is a lie (Galatiym sn-Gal 1:8-9)

24. YAHUAH condemns fellowship with men having only a form of godliness ( II Tiymutiy sn-Tim 3:5)

25. YAHUAH condemns loving pleasure more than Him, as many people do with traditions like Christmas (II Tiymutiy sn-Timothy 3:4)

26. YAHUAH condemns anything different from His Word as dark ignorance (Yishayahu sn-Isaiah 8:20)

27. YAHUAH abominates anything popular with the world and esteemed by it (Luqah sn-Luke 16:15)

28. YAHUAH condemns friendship with the world as becoming His enemy (Ya'aqab sn-James 4:4)
